Brent Bell LD’14

Head of School

Brent was named Darlington’s 11th head of school in 2014. With two decades of experience in education, he holds a B.A. in History from the University of Richmond and an M.S. in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to his work here, Brent was head of Upper School at Randolph School in Huntsville, Ala. He also served previously as assistant headmaster and dean of academic affairs at Woodberry Forest School in Woodberry Forest, Va., where he held the E. Craig Wall Family Mastership. He and his wife, Andrea, have three children, Charlie (’22), Jack (’24) and Brent (’26).

Campaign Director

Darlington School seeks a Campaign Director to join a talented, enthusiastic advancement team. The Campaign Director reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination, and management of the Capital Campaign. The Campaign Director helps set strategy and executes all aspects of a multi-faceted, multi-year, multi-phased campaign. The role entails working collaboratively with the Head of School, Chief Advancement Officer, Advancement staff, and volunteer leaders on various campaign committees.

Substitute Teacher

A Darlington substitute teacher fully supports the mission and values of the school and has the responsibility for creating the best student experience possible in the absence of the primary classroom teacher. This person provides instruction to students by following plans and materials provided by the teacher and presenting them using instructional techniques which meet the needs of all students. They provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of students in a manner appropriate to the grade level.
